Chapter 5
The squad brought me to a safe place.
I’d been out in the desert all day, so I went to
the hospital to check my health.
The doctor told me I should take an IV, just in
case.
I turned on the phone and called my parents.
“I’m at the hospital, I’m fine, don’t worry.”
My dad sighed. “Thanks God!” My mom said,

“Call your uncle, tell him what happened. You
can’t lie! Tiffany won’t answer, and he’s so
worried!”
I agreed, and the phone immediately started
ringing.
“Where is Tiffany? You need to bring her home!
If she’s hurt, I won’t forgive you!”
I mumbled and hung up.
Then I opened the family chat, and posted a
picture of the IV bag.
“Tiffany won’t pick up. I can’t go find her,
because I’m at the hospital. Everyone, if you
could contact Tiffany, please help me. It could
be very dangerous.”
The relatives had already heard what happened,
and when I messaged, they said a lot.
“If it’s real, then Tiffany is in danger, call the
police!”
“Why won’t you pay the money? You earn good
money, you’re not stingy!”
“She’s a good girl, too bad she has such
useless parents.”
My aunt messaged, “She’s lying, she wants
money! I know my daughter, when she was
little, she wouldn’t even let a boy hold her hand!
Someone at school was bullying her, and she
told her friends to gang up and punish him!
“Also, don’t think I don’t know, you used to like
that popular guy! You’re so jealous, that’s why
you’re doing this!”
Aunt was always so proud of her daughter, just
like my uncle, and she didn’t believe me.
The thing about that school bully was that
Tiffany didn’t like him, and she didn’t have the
courage to say it to his face!
Then my aunt posted videos of Tiffany dancing.
“You see, how could a great dancer do such a
thing?”
I posted a screenshot in the family chat. “The
truck driver sent me this picture.”
I had seen it when I turned on my phone. It was
a ton of messages from Earl, demanding
money.
“The money you promised? You lied to me!”
“Fine. You’ll never see her again!”
Underneath was a picture of Tiffany, her hair
messed up, her face covered in bruises.
