My husband buried me alive for Bai
Yueguang
Chapter 1
A massive earthquake hit, and my husband’s
precious darling, his “one that got away” Lily,
misdiagnosed me as dead and they buried me
alive!
He chose to grab Lily, who only had minor
injuries, and run.
I was left alone, waiting to die.
The same exact thing happened in my past
life. After he found out Lily was wrong, he
just forgave her.
He married Lily at my funeral, told my picture
く
he loved me, and then made out with Lily.
I woke up back on the day of the quake, just
as my husband was burying me alive.
He even wanted to give up on rescuing me,
just to cover up Lily’s mistake.
But as he was signing the “do not
resuscitate” form, I grabbed his hand.
This time, I was going to make them pay.
“She’s not breathing. No heartbeat. Don’t
waste resources. Just bury her!”
My husband, Chad, heard his precious Lily’s
diagnosis and, as head of the rescue team,
he immediately gave the order to bury me
right there.
Г
He didn’t even bother to check for himself
before bossing his crew around.
When he saw they weren’t moving fast
enough, weren’t getting enough dirt on top of
me, he jumped in. He grabbed a shovel,
covering my head with layers of dirt.
He stomped on the soil with his boots,
making sure I didn’t have a chance.
And when a second tremor hit, and he saw
my hand break through the surface, he
grabbed Lily, who only had a scratch, and ran
for it. He left me for dead.
This time, I grabbed onto the last rescue
worker who was trying to get away.
Г
He yelled, “There’s a live one here!
Someone’s alive!”
But Chad just snapped, “It’s probably just the
body releasing gas. It doesn’t mean she’s
alive. Let’s go! We can’t risk more casualties.”
As soon as he said that, the guy started to
pull away, but I held on tight.
I used every last ounce of strength to croak
out, “I’m alive! Please, help me!”
Chad just roared, and the guy, after a
moment of hesitation, ripped my hand away
and ran to Chad.
Chad was shouting, “Don’t waste time on a
dead body. Let’s go! We need to focus on
And by “dead body,” he meant me.
His wife of six years.
He knew I was alive. He just saw me. But he
didn’t lift a finger.
All he cared about was Lily and that little
scrape on her leg.
Last time, a once–in–a–lifetime quake
happened. I got buried while trying to rescue
someone, and went into shock and
suffocated.
His darling Lily, during the rescue, declared
me dead, and Chad was going to bury me
right then and there, so they wouldn’t waste
resources on someone who was already gone.
But someone noticed I was still breathing and
they rushed me to the hospital. I died on the
operating table.
That exposed Lily’s mistake. She got fired
and had to pay a ton of money.
And what did he do? He married Lily at my
funeral, telling me he loved me while kissing
Lily.
He kept saying how sorry he was.
He told everyone that if he could do it all over
again, he’d save me.
But here we were again, and he was burying
me himself.
The dirt he’d stomped on was as hard as
rock.
It was crushing me. I could barely breathe. I
felt like death was waiting just around the
corner to take me away again.
Suddenly, the ground shook.
I used that chance to scramble upward with
every last bit of my strength.
Through the haze of dust and debris, I could
see the rescue team. They weren’t far. I could
even see him fussing over Lily, putting
medicine on her leg.
After he finished with Lily, he packed
everyone up and they took off.
I reached out, trying to call for help, but all I
saw were the taillights disappearing into the
distance.
It wasn’t until late that night that a second
rescue team showed up. They found me,
half–dead, lying in the rubble and pulled me
out.
“Who buried a live person? This woman has
dirt in her nose and mouth! Thank God she’s
tough, or someone would be in big trouble!”
“And wasn’t the first team supposed to
search this area? How did they miss her?”
The person in charge was yelling, and they
rushed me to the nearest hospital, shouting,
“Make way! Emergency!”
But someone stopped them.
“What do you mean, Chad? We’re trying to
save someone!”
Chad glanced at me, his eyes widening in shock. Then he said, “Lily got cut by a piece
of rebar. She’s a higher priority. She could get
tetanus and die. You guys can wait.”
“This patient has been trapped for half a day
without food or water. She’s suffering from
severe hypothermia. If we don’t do something
soon, she’s going to die!”
The rescue worker sounded desperate. Even
the little nurse who was trying to keep me
awake was crying.
But my husband just looked at me and said,
“It’s okay, she’ll live. She’s my wife. I’ll take
responsibility if something happens. Lily’s the
one who risked her life to come help us. We
can’t let anything happen to her!”
Everyone stared at me.
Chad just kept his eyes fixed on Lily, who was
still getting her wound stitched up.
It was just a little cut.
You’d think Lily was the one on death’s door.
No matter what anyone said, Chad wasn’t
listening.
It wasn’t until the nurse noticed my pupils
starting to dilate that she yelled for a doctor.
The doctor quickly examined me and said,
“Her body temperature is below 86 degrees.
Prolonged hypothermia is fatal! We need to
start treatment now!”
