My werewolf husband was taken
away by my sister
Chapter 1
Ugh, it was a total nightmare.
My sister and I ended up marrying these twin
werewolves.
She snagged Jake, the dark–haired one.
He was supposed to be the strong, heir–to-
the–pack type, but he was a stone–cold jerk.
Seriously abusive.
I got stuck with Ethan, the pale, sickly one.
Total opposite.
<
Sweet, thoughtful, and somehow, he managed
to outsmart his brother and become the pack
leader.
My sister was green with envy.
She poisoned me.
I died.
Then, bam!
I woke up.
We were back at the freakin‘ selection
ceremony.
My sister practically threw herself at Ethan
this time.
L
I just smirked.
Did she really think he was the good guy?
- 1.
The pack matriarch, Grandma Willow, brought
out Jake and Ethan.
“Girls,” she croaked, “Meet my twin
grandsons. Pick your husbands.”
I stared.
Jake, the golden boy, future Alpha.
Ethan, Jake’s little brother, always battling
some heart thing.
L
A walking pharmacy.
I was definitely reliving this nightmare.
We were supposed to get hitched, and I was
back to picking from those two clowns.
Our family company, the Caldwells, had this
deal with the Willow Creek pack, so my sister,
Bethany, and I were basically offered up as
brides.
Last time, Bethany heard Jake was the next
Alpha.
She wanted that Alpha–wife status, so she
went for the muscle–bound jerk.
She had no clue he was emotionally stunted
<
and had a hair–trigger temper.
She spent her whole marriage trying to please
him, and all she got was a beatdown.
I was stuck with Ethan, who was surprisingly
kind.
He actually cared, took me out, and made me
feel important.
And get this: he played 4D chess and
somehow bumped Jake off to become the
freakin‘ Alpha himself!
Suddenly, I was the Alpha’s wife, calling the
shots.
Bethany was beyond pissed.
<
She snuck poison gas into my room.
I’ll never forget her eyes.
Cold.
Evil.
“You think you’re so special now, huh, Abby?
Alpha’s wife? I’ll take you out!”
I managed to grab a knife and take us both
out with me.
Now I’m back.
Watching Bethany latch onto Ethan, I knew
my new life was starting.
<
No more puppets or beatings.
نه
The wedding was rushed.
Ethan was all over Bethany, fixing her dress,
smoothing her hair.
Jake was a total Ice King, glowering at
everyone.
He wouldn’t even look at me.
Bethany had to rub it in.
“Honey,” she cooed, grabbing Ethan’s hand.
“In this pack, if you can’t keep your man
happy, you’re in for a rough ride.”
<
I glanced at Ethan.
He looked love–struck, but I saw the silver
ring on his thumb.
Chills shot down my spine.
I forced a smile.
“I’ll manage, thanks.”
I turned and practically ran.
Even though it already happened, my body
remembered the trauma.
Bethany thought she’d won.
She had no idea what she was in for.
I’d rather be stuck with grumpy Jake.
And this time, she made it possible.
That night, I changed into a slinky red
nightgown.
Jake was passed out on the bed, his black
wolf tail twitching.
The tail.
A werewolf’s most sensitive spot.
You don’t touch it unless you really trust
someone.
I took a deep breath and went for it.
<
I barely touched his tail before he shoved me
onto the floor.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?”
He was furious.
“Jake, it’s our wedding night.”
I tried to sound innocent.
Inside, I was cursing him out.
Jerk!
“So what?”
He grabbed my throat.
<
Those amber eyes pinned me down.
“Listen, I’m not interested in any of that crap.
You want to live? Stay out of my way.”
I couldn’t breathe.
I knew about his temper.
Every dog in the pack knew he was a volatile
killer.
If Bethany hadn’t been his wife in name only,
he probably would have eaten her.
I swallowed hard.
I couldn’t give up.
く
I’d suffered enough.
“Okay, okay… I won’t bother you.”
He dropped me.
I coughed, gasping for air.
Seeing his irritation, I scrambled to the bathroom to cough it all out.
