- 11.
Soon, Bethany and Ethan were released.
Ethan had repented, and Grandma Willow was throwing a dinner so he could apologize to
Jake.
I saw Bethany wearing a long coat and scarf.
No more smug smiles.
It was summer.
She wore that to hide her wounds.
Ethan must have taken all his anger out on
her in the dungeon.
Ethan was a psycho, weak and pathetic.
He took it all out on women.
Last time, he had me locked up and beaten
all the time.
His ring had hidden spikes.
I’d never forget the pain.
Bethany saw me looking and forced a smile.
“Even though we were locked up, Ethan was
so careful with me. He didn’t let me suffer.”
“Sis, try not to get too close to Ethan. If your
weren’t trying to sleep with him, he wouldn’t
have touched you!”
I almost laughed.
“Bethany, your wounds must hurt.”
Her face turned pale.
“How… how did you know?”
I smiled and walked over to Jake.
He’d changed a lot because of the soup.
He was holding my hand, and taking care of
- me.
He reached for a warm glass for me.
“Your stomach is bothering you, don’t drink
anything cold.”
Bethany’s jealousy was burning.
Ethan was trying to apologize to Jake.
They were kicked out and had to leave.
