My head felt heavy and dizzy. At first, I could still hear Dylan calling my name repeatedly, but soon I lost consciousness entirely.
I didn’t know how much time had passed, but when I finally woke up, the sharp smell of disinfectant reminded me that I was in a hospital.
My arm felt a bit numb, so I moved it slightly. My movement woke up Dylan, who was napping beside me.
He suddenly sat up, a brief flash of surprise in his eyes before it disappeared. He quickly put his serious expression back on.
“You’re awake. I’ll get a doctor,” he said, turning to leave.
I grabbed his sleeve. “Where are you going? Why am I here?”
He froze for a moment, looking at me in confusion.
“Don’t
you remember how you got here?” he asked anxiously.
I shook my head. His expression grew even more worried. He quickly left to find a doctor. “The patient has a brain hemorrhage, and memory confusion or amnesia is a normal side effect. You should take good care of her; it’s possible she’ll recover over time. Of course, there’s also a chance she won’t,” the doctor said before leaving.
Now there were just me and Dylan in the ward. The silence felt a bit awkward.
“Do you really not remember anything?” he asked.
I shook my head.
“Do you know who I am?” he asked again.
I shook my head, then nodded. “You must be someone I’m close to. Otherwise, why would you be taking care of me like this?
Are you my boyfriend?”
He was surprised for a moment but then nodded.
“Yes, I’m your boyfriend. We had an argument, and you were in a car accident when you were moving.
I’m sorry for what happened. Please don’t be mad anymore, okay?”
He apologized sincerely. I couldn’t quite read his expression.
I tried to recall the reason for our argument, but my mind was completely blank. I couldn’t remember anything at all.
I decided not to dwell on it, so I simply nodded, accepting his apology.
He was being so considerate, which made me wonder.
If he treated me this well, why had we argued before?
When I asked him this, the hand holding the apple suddenly froze.
“I came too late, and that’s why…,” he trailed off. I couldn’t understand what he meant.
He looked down. I couldn’t see his face, nor could I guess what he was thinking.
I decided not to overthink it and focused on eating the apple he had peeled for me.

Dylan took me back to his villa. I felt oddly out of place.
It was as if I had never lived here, but the closet was full of clothes that belonged to me.
I chalked up this strange feeling to just getting out of the hospital and still not having clear
memories.
That night, I felt Dylan lie down beside me.
My heart involuntarily sped up. I don’t know how much time passed, but I drifted off to sleep
in a daze.
The next morning, I stared at the breakfast he had prepared for me, deep in thought.
“What’s wrong? Don’t like it?”
I shook my head. It was all the food I liked. It seemed that we were indeed a couple and we
had definitely lived together.
After all, how would he know what I liked to eat?
But there was still something off, something I hadn’t figured out yet.
Since I couldn’t recover my memories immediately, I decided to just follow him for now.
I went to work with him.
“Maybe you should stay home and rest?”
I shook my head. “I wanna go with you. Maybe something will come back to me when I get
there,”
When he heard me, his gaze darkened slightly, but he simply replied, “Alright.”
My phone had been broken in the car accident.
He bought me a new one.
If my old phone hadn’t been damaged, I might have been able to retrieve some memories from the chat history. I couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed at the thought.
In the days that followed, wherever Dylan went, I went.
He took care of me really well.
Every time I woke up from a nap in his office, and saw him working, I felt an indescribable
sense of reassurance.
I still had the feeling that there was something I had forgotten.
But then I thought, if I had forgotten something, could it really be that important?
I lay in his arms, murmuring to myself.
Perhaps my muttering caught his attention.
His hand, which had been gently stroking my hair, now moved to lightly grip my chin.
His face slowly came closer to mine.
A warm breath brushed against my skin.
My heart raced.
I nervously shut my eyes.

My heart raced.
I nervously shut my eyes.
But my lips didn’t meet the expected touch.
After a few seconds, he chuckled softly.
He had tricked me! I huffed, a little annoyed.
As I tried to push him away to sit up, I found myself tightly held in his arms.
“Alright, I’m sorry. I’ll make you feel incredible.”
With that, he carried me into the bedroom.

He was really skilled in that area. I turned my head to glance at the man behind me, pushing
forward with determination.
I wanted to beg him to stop, but he didn’t give me a chance to say anything.
Before I completely lost control, I heard my phone ring.
It was from an unknown number.
Just as I picked up, the man behind me suddenly increased his pace, causing me to gasp involuntarily.
“Hello, who is this?”
The person on the other end seemed taken aback by my response, and there was a brief silence.
Just as I was about to hang up, he spoke.
“Did you move out? Where did you go?”
“What do you mean? When did I move?”
I wanted to ask more questions, but the man behind me wasn’t happy with my attention being diverted.
He tightened his grip around my waist, pushing harder, again and again, until I lost all sense of control.
