my nerves.

embarrassed to show my face outside my room I peeked from the window only for Damien to catch me staring.
“You need to eat something, Elena. We have to ensure the young ones are healthy.” he said, rolling up his sleeves. “Grandma and I were discussing your favorite dish, I’ll make dinner.”

“Elena sweetie, your boyfriend just made. me a cake, hurry up and try it!” Grandma interrupted, her eyes lighting up when she saw me standing beside Damien.
Soon the heavenly aroma of food filled the atmosphere, and Damian brought out the dishes, settling it down. Surprisingly despite my earlier nausea, my stomach growled.

“Eat slowly,” he instructed. “And drink this tea. Grandma told me it helps.”
I took a bite, the warmth of the food making my mood brighten. During the entire dinner, I did not need to serve myself for Damien kept filling up my plate and urged me to eat well unlike Alex who made sure than I ate less to keep myself in shape.
After dinner when I went to drop him off, Damien looked at me with an amused expression as I stuttered in front of him in embarrassment.

I looked at him, my heart skipping a beat as I nodded making him laugh. For the first time in a long while, I felt cared for as the warmth of the people who cared for me surrounded me like a bliss.
While my life was improving little by little, Alex after losing me started drowning himself in alcohol. Sitting in our bedroom amidst my rose fragrance that made him miserable he was drinking when his phone buzzed for the umpteenth time.

“Hello sir I am the manager of Star Villas. We would like to know why did you sold off such a nice property after just buying it.
