Just then, the crowd noticed my presence, and they bowed in fear and paid homage to me while scurrying away from Jeanette.
I acknowledged them before facing Jeanette who reluctantly bowed. “My Luna.” She said, frowning.
Naturally, I should have had her punished immediately but I had greater things in mind for her.
“Congratulations on finding your mate.” I said to her and she stood erect, facing me. with a smug smile.
Then I noticed her plumpy breasts and the scent coming from her. My brows furrowed as I took a step back. “Are you pregnant?”
Jeanette’s eyes widened in shock before they narrowed in glee. “Yes, my Luna.”

Chapter 5:
She answered, “I am with child.”
I blinked in surprise. This cannot be. It’s too early or had the affair started way earlier than I thought?
“Who’s the father?” I asked,
absentmindedly.
Jeanette smiled like she knew something I didn’t. “Soon enough, you’ll find out, my Luna.”
Just then Ragnulf stormed out of the house, seemingly looking for something and when his eyes landed on us, they widened in shock, then they became angry as they focused on Jeanette.
“What are you doing here?!” He growled at her. “Don’t you know it’s disrespectful for you to come in here?”
Jeanette suddenly looked sober and near- tears. “My apologies, Alpha.” She bowed and Ragnulf turned to me.

Jeanetter frowned as she faced me. “My apologies, Luna.” She bowed.
I didn’t bother to answer. I simply walked by them into the house.
“My love, where did you go?” Ragnulf followed after me into the building.
“I felt like going out, so I took a trip.”
“Where?”
I stopped and turned to face Ragnulf.
“Why are you suddenly interested in my whereabouts? You never asked before.”
He chuckled nervously, scratching his head. “That’s because you never go anywhere, my love. I just want to strike up a conversation.”
“I went to see an old friend.” I stated, walking away to the stairs.
“Male or female?”
I paused at the steps, and turned around

with a frown. “What does it matter? Are you suspecting me of something?”
His eyes were cold for an instant then they warmed in the flash of a smile. “What?
No. You‘ re my lovely Luna and I know you would never betray me. I was just messing with you. Let’s go upstairs.”
Later that night, Ragnulf was in the shower when my locket burned against my chest.
Touching it, I immediately began to hear voices and it wasn’t until I heard Jeanette’s that it dawned on me that I was listening in on a mindlink to Ragnulf.
“I don’t like how you shouted at me today. It’s obvious you don‘ t respect me, even though I am carrying your child.”
“I’m sorry, my precious.” Ragnulf replied.
I exhaled deeply, climbing into bed, suddenly feeling very tired and exhausted.
Soon after, Ragnulf came out of the shower,

glowing in his ripped, scarcely tattooed body wrapped in a towel.
One look at his well–built body and I used to feel aroused and wanting of him. Now, I felt disgusted just by looking at him.
“Aren’t you going to reply?” Ragnulf continued as he entered the closet.
“No.” Jeanette replied. “I am mad at you, and I don’t want to talk to you.”
Ragnulf sighed. “Alright, what can I do to make it up to you.”
“I don’t know. Surprise me.”
“Fine, my lady.” Ragnulf replied and when he came back out, he was fully dressed in a shirt and trousers.
“Where are you going?” I asked, as he was about to step out.
He turned around, seemingly unsure what to say. “Pack matters. I need to attend to an injured person from the rogue attack.”

“Oh wow.” I said, without emotion as I got out of bed. “Let me come with you.”
“No!” He said, a little too sharply. Then his voice softened. “I don’t want to stress you.
“But it’s my job as a Luna to check on these men.”
“I know, love, but it’s late and the injury is not that serious okay?”
I simply stood and stared at him. “Okay.” I answered with a shrug.
“I’ll be back soon, alright.” He approached me and when he tried to kiss me, I turned my face so his lips landed on my cheek.
He audibly sighed. “I’ll make it up to you okay?” He said and then when he left, I burst into tears.
