As I entered, I heard the laughter of Marina and Lainey.
Two people were trying on the clothes that Brent had sent, changing back and forth, with big smiles on their faces.
Seeing me, Marina’s smile faded a little. “Tessa, Brent was quite generous to you even after the breakup, giving you so many clothes.”
I glanced at her.
Marina instantly became unhappy, “What kind of look is this? Look at your gloomy face, no wonder people don’t want you.”
I hadn’t even spoken yet when Lainey intervened, “Mom, don’t say that about Tessa.”
She stared at me with big eyes and said, “Tessa, I’m sorry, I just wanted to be friends with Brent, I never expected him to ask me to be his girlfriend. We truly love each other, I hope you don’t blame me for taking him away.”
She said she was sorry, but her eyes were filled with pride.
Marina chuckled, “Lainey, what are you embarrassed about? In the end, it was still her lack of ability.”
Lainey accused Marina, “Mom, how could you say that about Tessa?”
They both, one played the role of the red–faced character, and the other played the role of the white–faced character.
I cursed in my mind and put on a fake smile on my face. “Lainey, Mom is right. In the end, you are more capable. This time, I’m truly impressed.”
The two people in front of me were stunned, not expecting me to say these words.
Lainey blinked her eyes and said, “Tessa, are you okay? You didn’t go crazy from the shock, did you?”
“No,” I shook my head, “I just thought about Marina’s words. It’s true that I have always been inferior to you since we were young. Are you and Brent going to get engaged and married soon? If that’s the case, let me take care of your wedding.”
I used to work at a wedding planning company, with Brent’s background, organizing weddings would definitely bring in a substantial income.

So Marina and Lainey listened to me, even though they didn’t believe that I could come to my senses so quickly. But this matter was already a done deal, and even if I was unwilling, there was nothing I could do about it.
I did this to transform my sadness and anger into strength, and I was determined to start a career.
Lainey didn’t even think about it and agreed, saying that if she could marry Brent, she would definitely let me handle the wedding.
From that day on, I no longer inquired about Brent and Lainey’s affairs.
I looked at houses near the company and decided to move out on a weekend.
Marina and Lainey also had this intention.
Brent often used to accompany Lainey home, and they were afraid that I would rekindle the old flame with him, so they wholeheartedly agreed.
After moving out, I wholeheartedly focused on my work.
After going through all this, I realized that Marina’s upbringing of me and Lainey was wrong since childhood.
Getting married is not a second chance at life.
Relying on oneself to earn money is the second chance at life, depending on men will eventually lead to being dumped.
Being strong oneself is the true ability.
Three months passed, and Lainey and Brent got engaged.
Six months later, she and Brent came to our company and signed the contract.
Lainey’s perfume was very strong, but I still caught a faint scent.
I knew that in the past six months, Lainey couldn’t help but cheat on me.
It must have been worse over there.
Thinking about this, and looking at the confirmed wedding date, I knew that my opportunity for revenge had arrived.
I arranged a destination wedding for Lainey, and on that day, all the guests were staying at a hotel
on an island.

The food at the wedding was also specially prepared by me.
The wedding had not yet ended when Lainey couldn’t help but keep running to the restroom.
Marina blamed me, “Tessa, were you intentional? You knew Lainey has a sensitive stomach, why did you still prepare so many spicy foods.”
I innocently said, “The main reason is that the guests Brent invited love spicy food, and besides, I prepared tofu for Lainey.”
“Her stomach is also sensitive to tofu,” Marina glared at me, “you better go buy her medicine quickly. Brent values the wedding night a lot, don’t let him down.”
I promised, “I won’t.”
In front of Marina, I had my assistant go and buy the medicine. When he came back, I switched that medicine with the laxative I had in my hand.
In the evening, Lainey went to the bridal chamber.
Marina and I shared a room. I thought Marina hadn’t seen many relatives, so I called a few of them over to play poker with Marina.
At the card table, several relatives praised Marina to the skies.
“You really raised two good daughters. The eldest daughter is capable. Today’s wedding was held so beautifully. The youngest daughter is beautiful, the groom’s eyes couldn’t move away from her at all.”
“Yeah, if we talk about someone being lucky, this kind of family shouldn’t be lacking a daughter–in–law, but they happened to choose Lainey.”
This remark was still a bit sour.
I heard it all, how could Marina not hear it.
She immediately smiled and said, “Why did he have to be interested in Lainey? Can’t he be interested in anyone else? You guys don’t know how picky Brent’s standards for a partner are. He likes virgins, but in this day and age, how many are still virgins? With Lainey’s looks and precious qualities, Brent just got lucky.”
Marina had a proud look on her face, completely unaware that she was objectifying Lainey.
Several relatives felt awkward after hearing it, but they still smiled and flattered.
At that moment, Marina’s phone rang.
Chapter 4
Before she heard it, I took the lead.
Before I could even speak, I heard Lainey’s crying from the other side, “Mom, come to my room, come alone, quietly.”
I stood up directly and shouted loudly, “Lainey, what happened to you? Don’t cry!”
The people who were playing cards all stopped.
Everyone was looking at me.
Lainey forgot to sob, “Why is it you? Where is mom?”
“Brent bullied you? I will take people over there right now!”
Without hesitation, I hung up the phone and indignantly told the few relatives in front of me, “Something’s wrong. Lainey cried and said that Brent hit her. Let’s go and check it out.”
Marina’s face slightly changed, “Perfectly fine, how could she have hit someone.”
“Don’t dwell on this matter, it’s important to support the child now.” Those relatives got up together and walked out, while reminding me, “Tessa, call everyone else over, we haven’t left yet and they’re already fighting, is there no law anymore.”
I nodded.
Without hesitation, he ran towards the floor where the guests were staying, accidentally disturbing the guests that Brent had invited.
So dozens of people came to the rooftop wedding house in a grand manner.
Several relatives stood at the front and knocked on the door.
The door was quickly opened, and everyone rushed in aggressively.
Seeing the scene inside, everyone was dumbfounded.
Lainey was the only person in the room, and Brent was nowhere to be found.
After smelling the scent that shot straight to the top of the head, and seeing the overwhelming yellow all around.
Everyone’s faces turned from white to red and then to black, and they all simultaneously made retching sounds.
