I crushed the devices underfoot and carried
Mark and Susan out of the building.
I took them to a basement I’d prepared. I tied
them to chairs.
After setting up the livestream, I splashed
cold water on them.
‘Awake? Let’s settle the score for what you
did to Lily!”

I started the livestream.
く
“Hello, I’m a recently released convict. I’m
here to talk about my daughter’s years of
domestic abuse.”
The simple, shocking opening drew viewers.
The numbers soared from dozens to hundreds
to thousands.
Some questioned my motives.
“Is this for clout? Trying to get attention?”
After ten years in prison, I’d wanted to stay
out of the limelight. I wanted a fresh start.
But for Lily, I was committing another crime. I
looked into the camera, my eyes resolute.
“Mark, you abused Lily sixteen times in two
years. Remember?”
I aimed the camera at Mark and Susan. The
comments exploded.
“Whoa! Live kidnapping! This father–in–law is
く
fearless! Amazing!”
“Is he telling the truth? How could a man do
this? Just get a divorce!”
“Let’s wait. Maybe his daughter is at fault.

The comments raged. Mark was clueless, still shifting blame.
“Dad, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt her. She wanted a divorce. I cared about her too much, that’s why I hit her. I swear it won’t happen again!”
Anger flashed in my eyes. I cut him off. “You beat her until her intestines ruptured, removed her left kidney, and left her needing a colostomy bag for life! You’re still saying it wasn’t intentional?”
“She begged you for a divorce, offering to
leave with nothing. Did you let her go?”

My voice cracked. The memories of her
suffering tore at my heart.
I showed pictures of Lily’s thirty–centimeter
scar. Susan vomited, looking disgusted. Mark
avoided eye contact.
Viewers were stunned.
“This monster! How is he still free? He drove
her father to kidnap him! Anyone know who he is?”
“That lawyer looks familiar.
“Is this staged? Lawyers don’t abuse their
wives! He probably knew he could get away with it!”
Seeing the comments condemning Mark, I felt
a little relief. Lily’s suffering was finally
known. Hopefully, this would give her
strength.

I refused to believe that monsters like Mark
could get away with it.
Angry comments flooded in, many tagging the police.
“Why isn’t this being investigated? Can he
get away with this because of a marriage certificate?”

The livestream’s popularity was growing. I needed to hurry before it got shut down. Mark and Susan thought I’d
