Chapter 9
Amelia had always prided herself on her resilience, but tonight, that pride felt like a distant memory. Her pulse raced as she sprinted through the crowded airport. terminal, the hum of announcements and the shuffle of travelers around her offering no comfort. She had been ready to leave- ready to achieve her dreams and find the man who ruined her family, but fate had different plans.
As she approached the gates, a notification. pinged on her phone, the words on the screen sending a chill down her spine:
Flight canceled due to unforeseen circumstances. Please reschedule at the
counter.
A sigh escaped her lips. Her stomach dropped. She had no idea what was happening, but she felt the change in the air before she saw it. The growing sense of unease that had followed her for days, ever

since leaving, she felt like she was being watched. She didn’t know if she was overthinking, but the air reeks with thick danger.
She turned toward the street nearest the
airport, her instincts screaming at her to keep moving. She didn’t get far before she heard the unmistakable sound of heavy boots approaching. Before she could react, a large figure stepped into her path.
Rogues.
There were four of them, all dressed in dark clothing, their eyes wild with hunger and malice. Amelia’s breath caught in her throat. She knew what they wanted.
“You’re a long way from home, sweetheart,” one of the rogues sneered, his eyes glinting
with menace.
Amelia’s heart raced as she took a step back, sizing them up. This is bad. Her mind screamed at her to fight, but her body was already calculating her chances. There

were too many.
“You think you can run?” Another rogue spat, and before she could react, he lunged.
She barely had time to shift into her wolf form and dodge, her reflexes sharp, but the rogue was fast. His claws scraped across. her side, tearing through her left arm and drawing blood.
Amelia gasped, feeling the sting of the wound, but she didn’t falter. She turned quickly, her fist connecting with the rogue’s jaw, sending him stumbling backward. She could take them on–she could–no.
The realization hit her with crushing force. More of them were closing in. Her back was against the wall now, and she knew she couldn’t win this fight on strength alone.
“Come with us,” one of them uttered.
“You’re mine now, woman. Don’t even try to fight back.”
Amelia’s breathing grew shallow, the

adrenaline coursing through her veins as
the rogues circled, waiting for the right moment to strike. The pain from her wound burned, but it wasn’t that which had her panicking. It was the suffocating sense of dread that clung to her.
She was running out of time. Her stamina. was growing weaker.
And fuck, she didn’t even know if she
would use that.
Use it, her mind whispered, and the idea nearly made her tremble. Her rare. bloodline power–the one she had kept hidden her entire life. The one that could change everything, and could shock the world
Amelia’s mind raced with the
consequences. If she used her power, the entire world of rogues would know. They’d all know who she was–what she was–the
last of the Rising Moon bloodline. And if that happened, she wouldn’t just be hunted by a few rogues, alphas, or normal wolves.

The Rogue King himself would come for her, and with him would come a horde of enemies that would stop at nothing to capture or kill her.
The world would become her prison.
But if she didn’t use it–if she didn’t fight- she wouldn’t survive this. These rogues weren’t here by accident. They would kill her if she wouldn’t come with them willingly!
Her breath hitched as she glanced at the rogues, their grins growing wider, sensing. her hesitation. They were circling closer, their claws and teeth glinting in the dim light.
Amelia’s heart raced, her thoughts wild as she weighed her options. Let them kill me here? Or risk everything to escape?
She glanced over her shoulder, the street empty and silent. No one would be able to help her in time.

twitching as they hovered over her injury. The power within her was like a dormant storm, ready to explode, but she was too afraid to use it. Now, she was injured… bleeding. But once unleashed, it could
never be undone.
But now, with the rogues closing in, there was no choice. She had to survive. She had to live–even if it meant revealing
everything.
With a shaky breath, Amelia made her decision. She clenched her fists, the warmth of the power gathering deep within her, filling her body like fire.
But then, a voice inside her screamed.
What if a greater problem comes once she wields her unstable power?
She shut the thought down, forcing herself to focus. The rogues were almost on her now, and there was no going back.
Amelia’s body trembled as she began to call forth her unstable bloodline power. The

surge of energy exploded within her, the

She had activated it. She had to, because their next attack would be fatal.
It might cost her life.
