Chapter 11
Amelia’s breath hitched as the pull in her chest grew stronger, a force she couldn’t ignore even if she tried. She clutched her heart, a strange mix of wonder and confusion clouding her thoughts. She had never felt anything like this before. It was as though the very core of her being was tethered to someone else, drawing her toward them, forcing her to confront something she never expected.
Mate.
The word echoed in her mind, overwhelming and undeniable. Her gaze flickered to the man before her. He stood still, his expression unreadable, but there was an undeniable tension in the air between them, like a magnetic force pulling them closer. His eyes softened slightly as he watched her reaction, but there was no mistaking the intensity in
them.

She blinked rapidly, trying to gather her bearings, but her heart wouldn’t stop pounding. “So… we‘ re mates?”
It was a question, but it felt more like a statement of disbelief. She could not wait to find her mate–she needed him above anything else–but she never imagined she would encounter him this way, especially not like this, in the midst of a dangerous situation. The idea of it unsettled her, leaving her unsure of what to do next.
The man’s lips twitched into a small, knowing smile. “Yes,” he confirmed softly, almost as if he was tasting the word.
“I never thought I would have a mate. I’m already 25, and most wolves have found their mate by now. But I never felt the bond with anyone until I got close to you. I thought maybe I’d never have one.”
Amelia blinked, her mind racing. And now, here they were, connected in a way neither of them could have predicted.

She didn’t know how to react, her
emotions tumbling over one another. But there was one question she couldn’t hold back. “Who are you?” She asked, her voice trembling slightly. The shock of the situation, the feeling of being pulled toward him–it was all too much.
The man seemed to hesitate for a brief
moment, his gaze never leaving hers. Then, he stood a little taller, his shoulders squared, as though the weight of his title was settling in. “I’m the Alpha of the Shadow Pack. My name is Logan,” he said simply. His words were casual, but there was an edge to his tone that spoke of power, authority, and something more- something deeper.
Amelia‘ s breath caught in her throat.
“The Shadow Pack?” Her eyes widened in realization. “Oh my goodness, I’m
actually going there. I’m supposed to attend an exclusive university near your pack.”

The surprise on her face must have mirrored the one in his eyes. He tilted his head slightly, his lips curling into a small, amused smirk. “Then why not come with me?”
Amelia blinked, her mind trying to catch up. “What do you mean?”
Logan’s eyes gleamed, and there was a warmth in his expression that surprised her. “I can take you there. It’s not too far. It’s my pack after all.”
His offer hung in the air, and for a moment, Amelia was speechless.
Everything in her screamed that this was… right. Maybe it was the mate pull, the strange connection between them, but the idea of being with him–of going to the Shadow Pack with him–felt almost like a
blessing.
Her flight had been canceled. She had no idea how she would get to Shadow Pack now, especially with everything that had happened. But Logan’s words seemed to

fill the void. Come with him.
She looked at him, still unsure, but the warmth in his eyes and the steady confidence in his voice made her feel safe in a way she hadn’t realized she needed. “I was supposed to go to Shadow Pack to attend my university anyway, so…” she explained, her voice softer now. “Well… I was unlucky and my flight was canceled. I need to wait for another day, I suppose. But since you’re from there, perhaps…”
Amelia was too shy to ask a favor.
Logan’s smile widened, and he took a step closer to her. “Why wait another day when you could come with me right now? I have a private jet. We can leave whenever you’re ready.”
The words sank into her, their meaning. clear. A private jet. The luxurious, effortless offer hung in the air between them, and it felt so easy, so right. Her
instincts, the ones that had guided her for so long, screamed at her to say yes.
