cameras, how do you plan to prove it?
“And you broke my vase, it cost me
thousands, so figure out how you’re going to
pay for it. Don’t expect anything from Jake,
the divorce is on hold, marital property is
protected.”
Chloe’s face was ashen.
I almost laughed. “Didn’t Jake ever tell you
that Sunny isn’t someone you mess with? If
Jake himself came here looking for a fight,
he’d get slapped a few times before being
kicked out.”
Speaking of Jake, here he came.
He got out of the car, and the way he looked
at Chloe was surprisingly cold.
“Didn’t I tell you to leave her alone?”
Not only was Chloe stunned, but so was I.
He walked up to me, full of concern, “Are you
okay? Did she hurt you?”
I avoided the hand he reached out to me,
turned around and walked back into the office
to grab the divorce papers.
“If everything looks good, just sign them.”
His face grew paler by the second, his fists
clenched, but he couldn’t do anything.
“I can explain. Nothing happened between me
and her after we got married, I swear.”
“I don’t agree to a diverse If you?
me, give me a chance to fix things, okay? We
have Leo, how can you do this to him, leave
him without a family?”
We have Leo.
That night, I was afraid to cry and wake up
my son.
The only reason I could think of for not
getting a divorce was for Leo.
But what about me?
So, I asked:
“Jake, do you even have the right to ask me.
that?”
“When you went overseas to propose to her,

“On our wedding day, when you were waiting
for her to reply to your email, did you think
about me?”
“When I was dying giving birth to Leo and you
were overseas with her for her birthday, did
you think about me?”
Jake was thunderstruck.
His lips were tightly sealed, his face drained of color, as if he were confirming that
everything I said was true.
He was feeling guilty.
I felt exhausted. If he had felt anything, just once, we wouldn’t be in this situation.
Chloe, seeing that Jake and I were locked in

stalemate, stepped in to break the tension.
“Sunny, don’t be mad. It’s my fault. I didn’t
know it was the day you gave birth,
otherwise, I wouldn’t have called Jake.”
Before I could say anything, Jake yelled at
her, “Will you shut the hell up?”
Maybe she’d never seen Jake like that before.
Her soft and timid expression slowly cracked,
she grabbed Jake’s arm and demanded,
“You said that I was the one you loved, and
now you’re yelling at me for this woman?
Have you forgotten all the things you
promised me? You said that if I came back, you’d divorce her and be with me!”
Jake panicked and pulled away, glancing at

eyes filled with despair.
Slap-
That drama was cut short by a slap from
Jake’s mom.
