An unexpected windfall and 6,000 dollars both matched what Maeve had said she wanted.
The second Amanda said that, Maeve burst into louder sobs.
Amanda tried to console her. “Oh, don’t cry, sweetheart. Sometimes a loss turns out to be a blessing. And hey, since it’s my first live stream. I can give you another divination for free
She then added, “Your current company won’t last another month. By then, they’ll be so broke that they won’t even afford your severance. Honestly, you’re better off leaving now and saving yourself the trouble.
“You’ll land a better job soon. Just remember to be bold with your applications. Shoot your shot. You might even get surprise.
Just as she finished, Amanda noticed someone in the corner of her eye. A figure was heading her way. She said to the viewers, “Alright, that’s it for today, guys. Catch you tomorrow.”
Right then, the elf’s voice chimed in, ‘Gained someone’s affection. Your reward is another 12 hours of life.”
Hearing that, Amanda nodded with satisfaction. Now, she could live for ten and a half more days.
The person she noticed earlier finally saw her and walked toward her.
Amanda took a sip of her coke and picked up another slice of pizza. She took a bite, and cheese smeared on her lips.
Derick stood in front of Amanda for a good minute, waiting for her to look up at him. Feeling that he was ignored, Derick narrowed his eyes in irritation
He snapped. “Amanda, this is how you treat me? The Corkery family never taught you any manners, huh?”
Amanda still kept eating and completely ignored him.
Derick’s gaze turned colder upon seeing Amanda’s reaction. He raised his hand, clearly about to slap her food onto the floor. Just then, Amanda finally looked up at him.
She grabbed his wrist. Her grip was so strong that it felt like she was about to crush his bones. The dead chill in her eyes made Derick freeze for a moment.
“Go ahead,” she said. “Touch my pizza and see what happens.”
Derick’s eyes widened, and she asked, “You’re hitting me over pizza?”
Amanda tilted her head, studied his face for a beat, and added casually, “Also my coke and my fried chicken. Don’t touch any
of it
Derick pursed his lips, his eyes locked on hers. Now he understood why Maddox said she’d lost her mind.
“She has really gone insane and even started to talk nonsense. The Amanda I knew would never talk back like this. When I got sick, she’d even skip important exams just to stay by my side. And now? She’s a different person,’ thought Derick.
His gaze swept over the small, sad–looking cake on the ground, and a mocking smirk appeared. “We didn’t celebrate your birthday, so you beat up Ellie and ruined the cake I made for her by hand?
“Are you seriously that jealous of her? You always try to take what’s hers. What makes you think you even deserve it? Let me make this clear, no matter how crazy you get, Ellic is and always will be my only sister”
But before he could finish, Derick suddenly felt weightless. The next second, he was flying through the air.
The stench hit him first–the sour, rotting smell of leftovers. And that was when it clicked that he’d been tossed headfirst into a dumpster. Panicking, he kicked wildly, trying to stand up.
Amanda looked down at him–legs flailing, head buried in garbage–and clapped her hands in satisfaction. “Perfect.”
“Trash belongs in the trash, she thought.
She snapped a couple of photos of him and posted them online. She then picked up the bags and threw them toward the
dumpster. After doing all that, she walked away like nothing happened.
Derick finally managed to knock the dumpster over and crawl out–just in time to get smacked in the face by a flying bag. It burst open, dumping leftover pizza all over him. He immediately froze.
A few seconds later, Derick’s furious shout echoed in the air, “AMANDA! I’M GONNA KILL YOU
Amanda was already long gone. Hearing his voice in the distance, she thought with a sneer, “You already killed me once. Don’t forget it.
Derick stormed back home in anger, still covered in trash.
Elise stared at his disheveled state and was completely stunned. She jumped up on one leg, hopping over in concern and asking. “Derry, what happened to you?”
Everyone else turned to look at Derick too, and shock was written all over their faces. After all, Derick was famously obsessed with cleanliness, No way he’d ever let himself be seen like this unless something really went down.
The moment Derick saw Elise, his whole expression softened. He reached out to steady her and instructed, “Don’t hop around. How’s your leg? If I’d been at the hospital, I would’ve wrapped it up for you myself.”
Elise looked up at him with trusting eyes. “You’re the best doctor in the world. With you around, I’ll heal in no time.”
“You little thing.” Derick said, wanting to flick her nose. But the second he raised his hand and saw how filthy it was, his face darkened again. Just like that, Amanda’s face popped into his head, and he couldn’t help but compare Amanda with Elise.
Derick thought, ‘She used to be at least obedient. Sure, a bit clingy and low–class, but bearable. Now, she’s completely lost it. Nowhere near as sweet and well–behaved as Ellie.
Catching his shift in expression, Elise flickered her eyes. She gently asked, “Seriously, Derry, what happened to you?
“Give me a break. That lunatic Amanda did this,” Derick replied.
Of course. he left out the part where she chucked him into a dumpster. He felt too ashamed to admit it.
“What? It’s that crazy girl again?” Maddox shot up from his seat and then winced as pain shot through him. His hatred for Amanda deepened on the spot
Their parents’s also furrowed their brows upon hearing their children’s conversation.”
Liliana Corkery snapped, “All this just because we didn’t throw her a birthday party?”
Ben Corkery scoffed, “We’ve coddled her too much, Bob, if Amanda tries coming home later, don’t let her through that door. She’s no part of this fainily.”
Liliana added, “Cut off her allowance. If she doesn’t apologize to Ellie, she won’t get a cent.”
Hearing that, Elise instantly said, “No, it’s my fault. If it weren’t for me, Manda could’ve had her birthday like normal. She’s right to be upset with me.”
The more she acted considerately, the more disgusted the Corkerys became with Amanda.
Maddox clenched his fists, fury burning behind his eyes. He thought to himself, ‘She dared do this to us? I’ll make her pay
Then an idea hit him. His eyes lit up, and he rushed back to his room to make a call. “Hey, Clark, doesn’t your uncle have some guys under him? Yeah, I need a favor…”
Meanwhile, Amanda withdrew her money from the platform and booked a five–star hotel. She was now soaking in a hot bath
without a care.
The elf said earnestly, “You should save some money, seriously.”
Amanda didn’t even blink and retorted, “Save it for what? I don’t even know if I’ll live past tomorrow. Spending today’s money today is my motto.
The elf tried to say something again, but Amanda cut it off. “Say one more word, and I’ll jump off the balcony. Then you can forget about ever leveling up.”

The elf instantly shut up.
Amanda gave a smug little hum. ‘See? Who’s in control now, huh?”
After a long bath, Amanda flopped into bed and passed out the moment her head hit the pillow,
But in the middle of the night, she suddenly woke up–something had jabbed her in the back.
She complained in her mind, ‘What the hell? A five–star hotel’s bed is so hard?”
Irritated, Amanda opened her eyes, only to realize she was in some rundown dump. The place reeked, and the air was thick with the smell of garbage. She looked around and couldn’t tell where she was.
With a quick mental divination, her fists clenched tight. She cursed inwardly, ‘I should’ve beaten Maddox to death yesterday!
