The office fell silent.
I watched Jason’s already pale face gradually
turn ashen.
The emotions in his eyes seemed frozen.
Shock, bewilderment, disbelief…
A mix of complex emotions in his eyes.
“How could…
He murmured.
I reminded him, “You haven’t seen her for two
years, so you wouldn’t know.”
Poor Mom, she was still mentioning me when
she died.
And I could only hold back my tears and
comfort her, deceiving her.
Telling her Jason was busy with work, and
when he was free, he would come to see her.
My mother’s death wasn’t unexpected.
<
It was simply the end of her life.
I personally signed the form to give up
treatment.
Holding her hand, I watched her quietly fall
asleep, never to wake up.
I calmly handled her funeral arrangements
alone.
Afterwards, I unexpectedly saw the video of
Jason and Lily.
I actually wanted to divorce Jason for a long
time.
Because I didn’t want to become a crazy
person trapped in this relationship.
And my mother’s death was the final straw.
Jason, Jason.
You wouldn’t know.
From the day you made a mistake and
refused to turn back,
we were already on a countdown.
Jason’s body swayed; he took two steps
back, almost unable to stand.
I looked at him and reminded him,
“If you have a conscience, let me go.‘
Being with you now,
every second suffocates me.
